January 31, 2018 | By Scott Cooper

Get Your Skate On At One Of The Many Outdoor Rinks This Month in Barrie

Winter is in full swing and it’s the time of year to grab your skates, hit the ice and spend some time with your family and friends at one of Barrie and Simcoe County's frozen lakes, ponds or skate trails.

Here’s a list of the city’s most prominent rinks as well as a few outside of town!

Fern Resort has 1.5 km ice skating trail complete with tiki torches for night skates and a mid-point resting area with fire pit - packages, including a meal and access to the facilities, are available for non-guests.

New in 2017 is Discovery Harbour Skate Trail! Imagine skating along the shoreline of Georgian Bay through a unique cultural and historical site, by day or night! The Discovery Harbour Skate Trail, Penetanguishene, will feature over 2 km of skating like no other.
