STANDARD LEASES COMING TO ONTARIO 

Leases signed in Ontario after April 30 this year will have to comply with a newly announced standard leasing form—which will apply to rented homes, apartment buildings, condos and other secondary units.

Until now, landlords have been creating their own leases and could be relying on rules from other jurisdictions, that may not apply in Ontario.

HOUSING MARKET NUMBERS FOR JANUARY 

Barrie's housing market statistics were released this week. And although the numbers indicated that overall buying and selling were on the low end in the area for January, house prices continued to rise on a year over year basis. You can see the numbers for yourself right here


FRIDAY HARBOUR DAMAGES ESTIMATED AT 1.5 MILLION 

Innisfil fire and rescue were quick to respond to a fire at a block of newly built townhouses at the Friday Harbour resort on Big Bay road on Feb. 13th.

Nobody was hurt, although one firefighter was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. 

Friday Harbour reported yesterday that damages will be in the 1.5 million range.
